A delegation from the American corporation ADM will travel to Ukraine for a familiarization tour of Ukrainian ports. The agricultural conglomerate is interested in building a grain terminal in Ukraine, Minister of Infrastructure Andrii Pyvovarskyi said during an interview with the LIGABiznesInform publication after attending a Ukraine-USA business forum in Washington.
"I had a meeting with the management of ADM. It is a major agricultural player that is interested in ports. They are already operating in Ukraine, but they want to develop through construction of a grain terminal with processing facilities. They have not yet decided on a specific site. Therefore, I invited them to tour Ukrainian ports to see where they will be interested in building something," said the minister.
He added that the Ministry of Infrastructure organized similar roadshows for the companies Soufflet, Nobles, and others a couple of months ago.
ADM is based in Chicago. The corporation operates more than 270 plants and 420 territories on which it grows and processes grain crops. It also has interests in the transport sector, with its subsidiaries American River Transportation Company and ADM Trucking. ADM made a net profit of USD 1.2 billion from revenue of USD 81.2 billion in the 2014 fiscal year.
