The State Maritime and River Transport Service issued the order No. 295, which extends navigation on River Dnipro until the end of 2020, on 26 November.

In particular, the document states that navigation through all the river’s shipping locks will continue until 31 December, the CFTS portal reports.

As reported earlier, an order dated 11 November extended navigation through the Kyiv, Kaniv, Kremenchuk, and Dniprodzerzhynsk shipping locks until 1 December 2020. The Zaporizhia RGS (district hydraulic structures) and the Kakhovka shipping lock were originally expected to be closed to shipping traffic on 4 and 5 December, respectively.

The European Business Association recently appealed to Ukraine’s minister of infrastructure and the leadership of the Maritime Administration to extend the navigation season on River Dnipro because weather conditions remain favorable and could remain favorable throughout the winter season, as was the case last year.
