The Verkhovna Rada has appointed the Batkivschyna parliamentary faction’s leader Arsenii Yatseniuk as Ukraine’s Prime Minister.
Yatseniuk was elected by 371 votes, a record number in the history of independent Ukraine.
After the vote, Parliament Speaker and acting President Oleksandr Turchynov signed the relevant parliamentary resolution and asked Yatseniuk to take his place in the government box.
