Member of Parliament Dmytro Razumkov of the Servant of the People party faction has been elected as the speaker of the ninth parliament, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.
Razumkov was elected by 382 votes during the first plenary session of the newly elected parliament on Thursday.
The European Solidarity parliamentary faction (26 members) voted against Razumkov’s election.
Razumkov was born in Berdichiv (Zhytomyr region) on October 8, 1983. He graduated from the Kyiv Institute of International Relations with a degree in international economic relations and the National University of the State Tax Service with a degree in jurisprudence. He is a political strategist and analyst.
He was a managing partner and director of the Ukrainian Politconsulting Group. He has held senior positions in the commercial and public sectors, as well as in political parties. He began working on election campaigns in 2006.
He was the spokesperson for presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s election campaign headquarters during the 2019 presidential election campaign.
