The Boryspil international airport’s Director Pavlo Riabikin announced resumption of negotiations with the Ryanair low-cost airline at a meeting with media representatives on July 13, the CFTS reports.

"Categorical conclusions are inappropriate in the case involving Ryanair. I agree with the Prime Minister that low-cost airlines should come to the Ukrainian market, and it is necessary to prepare the appropriate regulatory framework for this. We are resuming negotiations with Ryanair in the format ‘Ministry - Boryspil airport - Ukraine Investment Promotion Office,’" Riabikin said.

As reported, Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian has asked the government to dismiss the Boryspil international airport’s General Director Riabikin. Meanwhile, Omelian intends to monitor implementation of Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman’s latest orders by Riabikin.

Groysman has instructed the National Anti-Corruption Bureau to evaluate the negotiations with Ryanair on operation of flights to Ukraine to determine whether they conform to Ukrainian legislation. He has also said that it is necessary to resume these negotiations.
