Singapore will advise Ukraine on development of the port industry. An agreement to this effect was reached on 22 April during a meeting between Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian and Singapore's Ambassador to Ukraine Simon Tensing de Cruz, the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure reports.
Representatives of the two countries exchanged views on improvement of the bilateral legal framework in the area of maritime merchant shipping and air traffic.
In addition, the ambassador called on Ukraine to support Singapore's bid for re-election to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Omelian confirmed that the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure was ready to support Singapore’s bid and asked the ambassador to consider the possibility of mutual support of the candidacies of Ukraine and Singapore during elections to the Postal Operations Council of the Universal Postal Union.
