The management of the Skoda Auto company (Czech Republic) is interested in building another assembly plant in Ukraine. The Cabinet of Ministers announced this in a statement after Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman met with Skoda Auto’s Chief Executive Officer ​Bernhard Maier, Golos.UA reports.

According to the statement, the management of Skoda Auto considers Ukraine as one of the places for deployment of new production facilities.

Groysman promised to support the project. "Ukraine is interested in supporting our cooperation. Skoda has been operating in Ukraine for a long time, and I will not hide the fact that we are interested in your company establishing production in Ukraine... We have seen the things that need to be done for you to launch your project In Ukraine... I undertake to do everything necessary to ensure full implementation of the project," the prime minister said.

He added that the government could facilitate preparation of a production site, introduction of local-tax preferences, selection of the organization form of production, and training of specialists.

"I think that we will discuss all the details and alternatives in the next three months with a view to developing a positive business case and making the right decision," Maier said.

Skoda Auto has been producing a wide range of Skoda cars in Ukraine since 2002 in cooperation with its local partner, the Eurocar company (Zakarpattia region).
