Turkish Airlines has launched a number of flights from Ivano-Frankivsk. Dmytro Romaniuk, a director of department at the Ivano-Frankivsk regional administration, announced this on his Facebook page, the Ukrainian Pravda publication reports.
"Today, an extraordinary event for Ivano-Frankivsk: the first Ivano-Frankivsk - Istanbul flight. Now, every day. This is another very significant point of attraction to the city," he wrote.
According to Romaniuk, given that the region is overhauling the H-10 highway to Chernivtsi in 2016, the importance of Ivano-Frankivsk as the logistics center of western Ukraine is increasing.
According to him, in addition to flights to Istanbul, the airline plans daily regular flights to Naples, Verona (Italy), Valencia (Spain), and Vienna (Austria), which will arrive and depart both day and night.
