Ukraine and Germany have signed an agreement on establishment of a Ukrainian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. President of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry Eric Schweitzer announced this at the opening of a Ukrainian-German business forum in Berlin on Friday, 23 October, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reporters.
"We can celebrate the creation a Ukrainian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry today," he said.
According to Schweitzer, this move will strengthen cooperation between Ukrainian and German businesses. The Ukrainian-German business forum took place in Berlin from Friday to Saturday.
Prime Minister Arsenii Yatseniuk headed the Ukrainian delegation to the business forum. The other members of the delegation were Deputy Prime Minister Hennadii Zubko, deputy presidential chief of staff Dmytro Shimkiv, the Naftogaz of Ukraine national energy company’s Board Chairman Andrii Kobolev, the State Fiscal Service’s head Roman Nasyrov, and four cabinet ministers.
Five discussion panels were created during the business forum: a panel on the situation in Ukraine and reforms, a panel on industry and energy, a panel on transport and logistics, a panel on the agricultural sector and processing, and a panel on the hi-tech and IT sectors.
