Grain exports from Ukraine from the beginning of the current marketing year (July-June) to October 30 totaled about 11.53 million tons, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food announced in a statement.
Ukraine exported 6.374 million tons of wheat, 3.206 million tons of barley, and 1.811 million tons of corn. Exports of other grains totaled 138,000 tons.
In addition, 355,000 tons of grains were loaded onto ships. Taking these into account, the volumes of the grain that was exported and the gran that was prepared for export is 11.885 million tons, including 6.571 million tons of wheat, 3.245 million tons of barley, and 1.93 million tons of corn.
As reported, according to data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, grain exports from Ukraine totaled 32.4 million tons in the 2013/2014 marketing year, which is 42.1% more than the exports in the previous marketing year. Ukraine harvested a record of nearly 63 million tons of grain in 2013.
According to forecasts by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the 2014 harvest of grain and leguminous crops could reach 64 million tons net of the Crimea and the loss of crops in the Donbass.
