Evhen Kravtsov was appointed the new acting board chairman of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia. The govenment decree №230 was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday, March 30.

As a member of the Board Kravtsov is responsibile for reformation, law and property policy of PJSC.

Kravtsov graduated from Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University (specialty "Law") and the private institution "European University" (specialty "Management of foreign economic activity"). He also studied international business law as a member of the Fulbright Program.

Yevhen Kravtsov began his career in 2008 as a lawyer of Asters company. Since January 2015 he was an adviser to the general director of Ukrzaliznytsia, in May 2015 he became the director on  reformation, legal and property policy of UZ.

At the same day the Cabinet has dismissed Oleksandr Zavhorodnyi from the positions of acting head and the member of the Board.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the composition of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia on October 7, 2015. It included acting general director Oleksandr Zavhorodnyi; Ukrzaliznytsia’s Director for Corporate Governance and Personnel Motivation Oksana Marina; Ukrzaliznytsia’s Director of Infrastructure Serhii Mykhalchuk; Ukrzaliznytsia’s Director for Reform, Legal, and Property Policy Yevhen Kravtsov. In addition to them, German citizen Stefan Hofsaess, who is the adviser to the Minister of infrastructure on railway reform, joined the board after obtaining a work permit.

A competition to become the head of Ukrzaliznytsia is currently underway. The deadline for submitting applications was March 25. In total, 31 candidates submitted applications. Announcement of the results is scheduled for April 29.

The Ukrainian Railways public joint-stock company, 100% of the shares of which will be reserved for the state, is being created on the basis of Ukrzaliznytsia as well as more than 50 rail transport enterprises and institutions, which will be merged. The list of enterprises on the basis of which PJSC Ukrainian Railways will be established includes six railways, railcar repair plants, state railway enterprises, rail transport design and research institutes, and several technological design and engineering bureaus.
