After unloading, the ship is expected to depart for the Chilean port of Punta Arenas for the upcoming rotation of the annual expeditions at the Vernadsky Research Base.

The Noosfera icebreaker departed from the port of Cape Town (South Africa) at the end of December 2022 to begin its second Antarctic season under the Ukrainian flag. The ship first delivered cargo and a team of polar explorers to the Arctowski Polish Antarctic Station on King George Island.
