Passenger traffic through Ukrainian sea and river ports increased 2.7-fold to more than 512,000 in the period of January-November 2018, compared with the corresponding period of 2017.

This is stated in data from the Ukrainian Seaports Authority (USPA), the CFTS portal reports.

Domestic passengers (464,500) accounted for most of the passenger traffic.

Passenger traffic increased by 11% to 4,026 in November 2018, compared with November 2017.

Most of the passengers were handled by the Odesa seaport. This seaport handled 321,600 passengers in in the period of January-November 2018, including 654 in November. Passenger traffic through the Odesa seaport increased by more than 18,000 percent in the period of January-November 2018 from only 1,750 in the corresponding period of 2017.

The Kherson port handled 146,100 passengers in the period of January-November 2018, which is 1% more than the 144,300 passengers it handled in the corresponding period of 2017. The port did not receive any passengers in November.

The Chornomorsk seaport handled 38,600 passengers in the period of January-November 2018, which is 4.6% more than the number it handled in the corresponding period of last year. The port handled 3,400 passengers in November.

The Ust-Dunaisk port handled 5,300 passengers and the Izmail port 400 passengers in the in the period of January-November 2018.

As the CFTS reported earlier, 508,100 passengers were transported on waterways in the first 10 months of 2018.
