Ukrainian seaports handled 7.1 million tons of cargo in September 2024, more than double the 3.4 million tons they handled in the same period in 2023.
The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
Grain and ore shipments led the way in terms of cargo turnover, with grain volumes totaling 4.1 million tons compared to 2.3 million tons in 2023, and ore shipments totaling 1.3 million tons compared to 249,000 tons in 2023.
The volume of cargo through Ukraine's Black Sea maritime corridor was 6 million tons in September, including 3.6 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products.
In total, Ukrainian ports handled 74.2 million tons of cargo in January-September 2024, compared to 41.1 million tons in the same period of 2023.
Ukrainian ports handled 8,630 vessels compared to 11,038 in 2023.
