Ukrainian transport companies (excluding companies in the Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as the parts of the Donbas that are not controlled by Ukraine) reduced passenger transportation by 11.3% to 2.184 billion people in the period of January-May 2015, compared with the corresponding period of last year. The Interfax Ukraine news agency reported this, citing data from the State Statistics Service.
The passenger turnover of carriers reduced by 10% to 38.2 billion passenger-kilometers during this period.
Passenger transportation by rail (including transportation by commuter trains) reduced by 1.1% to 157.5 million.
The number of passengers transported by road reduced by 20.9% to 992.4 million in January-May, compared with the number in January-May 2014.
Passenger transportation by water increased by 21.8% to 100,000 in January-May.
Passenger transportation by air reduced by 10.2% to 2.1 million in January-May, compared with the corresponding period of last year.
