The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) has received from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society generators for ensuring that Ukrainian railway stations can operate without interruption despite the constant Russian attacks on the country’s infrastructure.

Ukrzaliznytsia announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

The generators will be operated at the train stations in Zaporizhia (2 stations), Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Kamianets-Podilskyi, Berdychiv, Rivne, Kryvyi Rih (2 stations), Kovel, Kolomia, Mukacheve, Truskavets, Morshyn, Zhmerynka, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Chop, Uzhhorod, Zhytomyr, Myronivka, Chernihiv, Trostianets, Sumy, Kharkiv, Odesa, Cherkasy, ​​Kropyvnytskyi, Berdychiv, Ternopil, and Lviv (2 stations), as well as at the Darnytsia and Taras Shevchenko train stations.

The total cost of this humanitarian aid is almost UAH 12 million.

"This is not just a step towards Ukrzaliznytsia, it is also a step towards all passengers. Locations at which people can get tea and coffee and warm themselves will be opened at train stations, and these generators will make it possible for the stations to operate regardless of possible enemy attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure," said Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, Ukrzaliznytsia board member and head of the company’s passenger department.
