The Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) has transported almost 800,000 international passengers since the beginning of this year.
Ukrzaliznytsia announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
According to the statement, the company expects the demand for international train services to revive in the summer.
"This year, the company transported the largest number of passengers on the route to Przemyśl (451,000), on the route to Chełm (226,000), on the route to Warsaw (over 82,000)," the statement said.
At present, the company is actively preparing for the summer transport season. According to the company, it operates 28 trains on international routes: 14 from the largest cities of Ukraine and 14 from border towns.
In particular, the company operates trains from Ukraine to Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Moldova, Hungary, and Slovakia.
"The most popular train is No. 67/68 Kyiv-Warsaw, on which the number of seats is limited because of the specifics of its wagons. It uses RIC cars, which can run on both Ukrainian and European gauge tracks. The number of such cars in the company's fleet is limited. Therefore, if you cannot buy a ticket for this train, we recommend you consider the Lviv - Rava-Ruska - Warsaw train, as well as trains to Chełm and Przemyśl," Ukrzaliznytsia said in the statement.
