The Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure will sign a memorandum of cooperation in the aircraft manufacturing industry with General Electric next week. Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian announced this at a news briefing on 15 July, the CFTS correspondent reports.
"We have signed a memorandum with General Electric on testing their locomotive in Ukraine. It is the best design in the world today. Next week, we also plan to sign a memorandum with General Electric on cooperation not only in the railway sector but also in the aircraft manufacturing and other sectors," Omelian said.
According to him, the cooperation with General Electric will focus on introduction of new solutions and engines for aircraft. "This company is known for its electronic solutions, engines. I think consultations will be held in this area," he said.
As reported, the Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company’s head Wojciech Balczun signed an agreement with General Electric on Thursday, 14 July, under which the American company will deliver a locomotive to Ukraine for testing on Ukrainian railways.
