The Ust-Dunaisk seaport has received the first passenger ship in the new cruise season, the CFTS portal reports, citing information from the Ukrainian Seaports Authority.
The Swiss-flagged Nestroy ship visited the Vilkove port locality on April 7. The ship’s foreign tourists were taken on an excursion of the Danube region on the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company’s "Yevhen Kosiakov" tourist vessel.
The Nestroy vessel operates on the Vienna-Vilkove route. The maximum capacity of the vessel is 230 passengers.
The Ust-Dunaisk seaport expects passenger ships to make 27 calls in 2017, including 18 calls by river vessels and nine by the "Princess of the Dnieper" vessel.
As the CFTS reported, the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company plans to organize a new route for tourists on River Danube in 2017. The new route will begin in Romania and go up the river to Central Europe.
