Sevki Acuner, who was elected as the head of the supervisory board of the Ukrainian Railways public joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) on July 17, has announced that eradication of corruption within Ukrzaliznytsia is the main priority of the supervisory board. Acuner announced this to reporters in Kyiv, the CFTS correspondent reports.

According to Acuner, the main principle for the supervisory board will be transparency and involvement in all Ukrzaliznytsia processes. "We will achieve success if we have the confidence of all our stakeholders," he said, adding that the main priority will be to eradicate corruption.

Acuner added that Ukrzaliznytsia would fulfill the tasks set by the government and contribute to achievement of a 5-7% economic growth.

Four subcommittees have been created within the supervisory board. The first will be responsible for appointments and remuneration. It will be headed by Acuner. The second, which will be responsible for audit, will be headed by Mathieu Andreas. The third will be responsible for development of strategy and financial planning, and it will be headed by Christian Kuhn. The fourth, which will be in charge of corporate management, will be headed by Kostiantyn Marievych.

As reported, the Ukrzaliznytsia supervisory, which the Cabinet of Ministers approved on June 20, began work on July 17.
