Antonov Airlines has announced the successful relocation of a modernized An-124-100 Ruslan strategic airlift aircraft from Ukraine to Germany.

The Antonov company announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

"Antonov JSC has completed a complex, multi-year project involving the extensive modernization of one of its legendary transport aircraft, the AN-124-100 with the serial No. 0706. On 11 July 2025, the Ruslan was safely relocated to Germany," the statement said.

Manufactured in 1994, the aircraft has logged over 21,000 flight hours and completed over 5,500 flights. Work on its extensive modernization began in 2021.

A team of Antonov engineers performed the extensive modernization to replace critical Russian-manufactured systems and components with modern components of Western and Ukrainian manufacture.

Due to Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, the work was partially suspended, with the aircraft in a disassembled state.

Despite the war, the modernization work resumed and was completed in June 2025.

"The upgraded Ruslan will continue flying and serving Ukraine on international routes," the company said.
