President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said during a visit to Krivoy Rog on Friday that the Luxembourg-based ArcelorMittal steel company would invest USD 1.2 billion in Ukraine in the coming years. Presidential press secretary Sviatoslav Tseholko announced this on Twitter, RBC-Ukraine reports.
"ArcelorMittal will invests USD 1.2 billion in Ukraine in the coming years - the president in Krivoy Rog," Tseholko wrote.
He also said that Poroshenko attended the opening of a new blast furnace at the ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih steel plant.
"Krivoy Rog is becoming a symbol of the revival of the Ukrainian economy. The president attended the opening of a new blast furnace," added Tseholko.
