Ukraine increased steel production by 22% in December 2020 but steel production in the entire year reduced by 1%.
According to Worldsteel, production of crude steel in Ukraine reduced by 10% to 1.765 million tons in the first quarter, compared with the same period in 2019, but the country rose to 11th in the ranking of the world’s largest producers.

Ukrainian steel plants increased steel production by 24.1% to 1.969 million tons in February this year, compared with February 2015, thus retaining its 10th place in the ranking of the world's 66 largest steel producing countries compiled by the World Steel Association (Worldsteel).

Coke is delivered from Poland by rail. Coal is also delivered from Kazakhstan and partly from Russia.
