The first Kyiv-Mykolaiv-Kherson train of the Intercity class departed on Tuesday, 5 July. As Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian said on his Facebook page, "the train is not new, but it has been completely renovated and it is sufficiently comfortable."

First Deputy Minister Yevhen Kravtsov and the Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company’s Board Chairman Wojciech Balczun also attended the ceremonial launch of the first train on this route.

The train covers the distance from Kyiv to Mykolaiv in six hours and the distance from Kyiv to Kherson in seven hours and 15 minutes. The cost of a first-class ticket to Kherson UAH 290 and the cost of a second-class ticket is UAH 204.

The new train is not a "Tarpan" or a Hyundai, but a train consisting of modernized cars and pulled by a diesel locomotive.
