A fifth daily flight on the Minsk-Kyiv-Minsk route and three new flights per week from the capital of Belarus to Odesa will allow more comfortable travel from these Ukrainian cities to 47 destinations in European and CIS countries through the Minsk National Airport, as well as allow the demands of tourists to be met during the holiday season, according to a statement on the website of the airline.
Previously, Belavia’s aircraft flew on the Minsk-Kyiv-Minsk route twice per day to the Boryspil airport and twice to the Kyiv (Zhuliany) international airport. A third flight will be operated to the Kyiv international airport from 25 April to 29 October 2016. Thus, five flights will be performed to Kyiv daily and passengers will be able to choose the convenient time and airport for their trips to Kyiv.
An additional flight will be a daily flight with departure from Minsk at 14:15 and from Kyiv (Zhuliany) at 17:15, local time. The travel time is 1 hour.
"The introduction of additional flights is primarily due to seasonality. The summer timetable came into force on 27 March, which means the beginning of the high season and an increase in demand from holidaymakers,” Belavia Airline’s General Director Anatoly Gusarov said.
Belavia Airline will introduce an additional flight on the Minsk-Odesa-Minsk route on 17 June 2016.
The additional flight is scheduled to be operated three times a week, using a Boeing 737-300 aircraft in a two-class layout. Thus, Belavia will fly to Odesa 10 times per week. Additional flights will depart from Minsk on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 00:20 and arrive in Odesa at 01:40. Return flights will depart from Odesa at 03:30 and arrive in Minsk at 04:55.
"Odesa receives about 3.5 million tourists but has the potential to receive 2.5 times more. Currently, the city and the regional authorities have done a great amount of work to attract our fellow countrymen to vacation in their region: a wide range of services from green to medical tourism is currently available at reasonable prices. The number of Belarusians choosing to vacation in [Odesa] is expected to increase this year. We are also counting on an increase in the number of Ukrainian tourists wishing to vacation in Belarus. In order to promote the tourist potential of Belarus in the Ukrainian market, we and our partners have organized a visit to Odesa by Belarusian tour operators and the media, and Odessites will pay a return visit to Minsk in the near future," Gusarov said.
