The Boryspil international airport made a net profit of UAH 598 million in 2015, compared with a net loss of UAH 127 million in 2014. The Interfax Ukraine news agency reported this, citing information from the airport.
Passenger traffic through the airport increased by 6% to 7.277 million in 2015. Direct revenues from the airport’s base carrier – Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) – increased almost six-fold to UAH 1.063 billion. According to the airport, this was due to settlement of conflicts, increase of direct and transfer passenger traffic, and implementation of joint technological solutions.
In addition, productivity at the airport increased by 16% to 1,842 passengers per airport employee in 2015 due to additional passenger traffic, optimization of technical processes, etc. The average salary of an employee at the airport increased by 17% to UAH 6,838 in 2015.
The airport repaid UAH 1.312 billion in loans (excluding interest) in 2015. In addition, the airport doubled its payments into the state budget to UAH 624 million.
