The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Volodymyr Zhmak as the board chairman of the Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia).

This was announced by Member of Parliament Oleksii Honcharenko, the CFTS portal reports.

"The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Volodymyr Zhmak as the chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia," Honcharenko said.

"Ukrzaliznytsia’s supervisory board selected Zhmak via an open competition. He passed absolutely all the interviews. It was an open competition," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said, commenting on the appointment.

As the CFTS portal reported, Ukrzaliznytsia’s supervisory board voted to appoint Zhmak, who is a member of the Boryspil international airport’s supervisory board, as Ukrzaliznytsia’s board chairman on August 13.
