The Cabinet of Ministers has begun auditing the financial and economic operations of the State Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) and suspended its General Director Borys Ostapiuk for the duration of the audit, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reports, citing the Cabinet of Ministers secretariat’s department of information and communication.
The document states that information about possible abuses in the financial and economic operations of Ukrzaliznytsia and corruption in the Ukrzaliznytsia has been received from law enforcement authorities.
"In connection with this, an interagency commission has been set up in the Ministry of Infrastructure. Ukrzaliznytsia’s General Director Borys Ostapiuk has been suspended for the duration of the audit," the Cabinet of Ministers said.
