Experts from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Damen Shipyards Group (the Netherlands) will establish a working group for revitalization of shipbuilding at Ukrainian shipyards, the press service of the government has announced.
An agreement to this effect was reached during Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov’s visit of to the Netherlands.
According to Azarov, the agreement provides for obtaining credits for construction of ships at Ukrainian shipyards.
As reported, the Black Sea Shipyard (Nikolayev), which is part of the holding company Smart Maritime Group, currently cooperates with Damen. The Black Sea Shipyard has built five cargo vessels for Damen in recent years, with the Dutch company later equipping these cargo vessels at its own facilities in accordance with the requirements of its customers.
