Ukrainian seaports handled over 135 million tons of cargo in 2018, which is 2.4 million tons or 1.8% more than they handled in 2017.

According to data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure, Ukrainian seaports handled 98.9 million tons of export cargoes (which is 383,000 tons more than they handled in 2017) and 23.78 million tons of import cargoes (3.36 million tons more) in 2018, the CFTS portal reports.

Ukrainian seaports handled 10.93 million tons of containers in 2018, an 11% increase.

The volume of cargo transportation between Ukrainian seaports increased by 260,000 tons or 14% to 2.1 million tons in 2018, compared with 2017.

According to the data, dredging works are continuing at nine sites in Ukrainian seaports. In addition, two concession projects have been prepared at the Olvia and Kherson seaports.

As the CFTS portal previously reported, the volume of cargo transshipment by Ukrainian seaports totaled 132.9 million tons in 2017.
