Ernest Airlines (Italy) plans to enter the Ukrainian domestic air transport market.
Ernest Airlines’ President Chady El Tannir announced this at a press conference, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.
“I am pleased to accept the proposal of the deputy minister (Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandra Klitina) regarding expansion of our network and its extension to Ukrainian open spaces, domestic. Today, we are starting work on obtaining a Ukrainian license,” he told the press conference.
As the CFTS portal reported, Ernest Airlines opened its representative office in Kyiv in September.
Ernest Airlines’ route network includes four Ukrainian cities. The airline flies to the Kyiv airport from Bergamo, Bologna, Rome, Naples, Milan, and Genoa; to Lviv from Bergamo, Rome, Naples, and Venice; from Kharkiv to Milan and Rome; from Odesa to Rome. The company has had a presence on the Ukrainian market since 2017.
As reported earlier, Ernest Airlines plans to begin basing two aircraft in Ukraine in 2020.
