The BBC Aquamarine vessel arrived at the Chornomorsk seaport on January 16 with the latest batch of General Electric Т33АС locomotives on board.

This was announced by the Odesa railroad, the CFTS portal reports.

“The BBC Aquamarine vessel arrived at the Chornomorsk seaport last night with five locomotives manufactured by General Electric, and the unloading of the vessel began in the morning. Like the previous locomotives, they will be sent to the Kryukov Railcar Building Works, and they will begin operation after a while,” the Odesa railroad announced on January 17.

Twenty additional diesel locomotives manufactured by the American company were delivered to Ukraine earlier. In total, the Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) is due to receive a total of 30 such vehicles under its first contract with General Electric.

As the CFTS portal reported earlier, the Trident diesel locomotives are already being used to transport ores on the Volnovakha-Kamysh-Zoria-Fedorivka-Melitopol railway route. In addition, ТЭ33АС locomotives are in operation on the Dolynska-Mykolaiv route.

Under the terms of the contract, the The Kryukov Railcar Building Works is to complete final configuration of all the 30 TE33AC Trident locomotives by March this year. After that, further deliveries of American-made diesel locomotives are not expected in 2019.
