The FlixBus bus operator announced has announced plans to launch domestic bus services in Ukraine in 2020.
The company announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.
According to FlixBus, success on the Ukrainian market has prompted the company to further develop its operations in the region.
FlixBus plans to increase the number of its international bus services from Ukraine in 2020, but an important goal is to launch a domestic bus service.
“We see a huge interest in bus services within Ukraine. According to official data, 148 million passengers a year use intercity bus services in Ukraine. As of today, there are insufficient offers of comfortable, safe, and affordable bus services,” said FlixBus' Managing Director for Poland and Ukraine Michal Leman.
The company is not yet ready to provide information about the number of routes, destinations, and the launch date of domestic bus services in Ukraine.
FlixBus entered the Ukrainian market in 2019 by launching regular international bus services, which currently provide direct links between 10 Ukrainian cities (Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Uman, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, and Uzhhorod) and 44 cities in Europe.
As reported earlier, FlixBus announced its intention to introduce new international bus services to Morocco and the Baltic States, as well as to launch bus services on domestic routes in Portugal and Britain.
