The Cabinet of Ministers has renamed the Yuzhny port (Odesa region) as the Pivdennyi port. The relevant resolution was adopted at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on April 17, the CFTS portal reports, citing the Delo publication.

According to the explanatory note to the resolution, this will prevent the use of foreign words in the Cabinet of Ministers’ legislative acts.

In addition, according to the resolution, the outdated names of the Olvia seaport (formerly known as the Oktiabrsk seaport) and the Chornomorsk seaport (formerly Illichivsk seaport) will be replaced in the Cabinet of Ministers’ documents.

As the CFTS portal reported last week, Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelian has announced the change of the Yuzhny seaport’s name to the Ukrainian version.
