The Ministry of Infrastructure has appointed Dmytro Babeichuk as the acting General Director of the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE). The relevant ministerial order (No. 102-o) was signed on June 18.

Babeichuk previously headed a department of the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine.

As reported, Infrastructure Minister Maksym Burbak suspended Yurii Cherednychenko from the post of general director of UkSATSE on May 27 for the duration of an investigation into UkSATSE’s financial and economic operations. UkSATSE’s former head Serhii Zdorovets was temporarily appointed as the head of the enterprise.

However, the Federation of Trade Unions of Aviation Radar, Radio Navigation, and Communication Workers of Ukraine has called on the Ukrainian authorities to reconsider this decision. Employees of UkSATSE held a protest near the entrance to the enterprise on June 3 with the aim of preventing Zdorovets from entering the enterprise. Zdorovets returned to UkSATSE’s central office in the company of security forces on June 4.

UkSATSE was founded in 1992. It provides the full range of air navigation services: air traffic control, organization of air traffic flows, organization and management of airspace, provision of radio-technical support for communications, navigation, and surveillance, and provision of aeronautical and meteorological information for all types of flights in its zone of responsibility, which covers five flight information regions with a total area of 776,265 square meters.
