Consultations on development of a concept for deregulation and liberalization of the market of passenger transportation by road began at the Ministry of Infrastructure on 9 August.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, establishment of mechanisms for creating equal conditions for market access for all carriers, resolution of the issue of opening new routes, creation of conditions for businesses to emerge from the shadow economy, establishment of proper control over transportation and other issues were discussed during the first round of consultations.
The aim of the consultations is to draft a number of proposals for changes on changing the approach to the operation of the passenger transport market. Based on these proposals, the Ministry of Infrastructure will prepare a conceptual plan and present it for public debate and approval. After that, the necessary regulatory acts will be adopted.
A new approach to organization of passenger transportation by road should be implemented from the second half of 2017.
