The Pallada state factory (Kherson) has delivered the Dormac Dock, a floating dock it built for Southey Holdings Ltd (South Africa), the press service of the Kherson regional administration announced in a statement.

The factory’s acting Director Valerii Maloman plant and the South African company’s head Christopher Sparks signed the act of delivery of the dock. The flags of Ukraine and South Africa were raised on the dock after the signing of the act. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko attended the ceremony.

The Dormac Dock has a total lifting capacity of 8,500 tons. The Pallada factory was awarded the contract for its construction in November 2015.

The factory was founded in 1936. It is currently part of the Ukroboronprom state defense concern. It manufactures reinforced-concrete docks, special floating docks, pontoons for construction of hotels and restaurants, marinas, breakwaters, and other floating structures for various purposes. Docks built at Pallada are in operation in Russia, Japan, Korea, Finland, Croatia, Latvia, Estonia, Angola, Vietnam, Nigeria, Algeria, and other countries.
