The modernization of the Donmaster Spirit cargo ship is nearing completion at the Kherson shipyard: the length of the vessel has been increased by 23 meters to 119 meters.
This was reported by the CFTS portal, citing the Smart Maritime Group, which is the parent company of the Kherson shipyard.
After the modernization, the vessel, which operates under the flag of Belize, will transform from a two-hold into a three-hold vessel. About 95% of the modernization work has already been completed.
The ship will be launched in the next few days. The modernization contract is worth about USD 1 million.
As the CFTS reported, the Azov shipyard recently launched the Laurus dry cargo ship after completion of part of its repair. The vessel has a deadweight of 5,480 tons, a length of 96 meters, a width of 15.8 meters, and a hull height of 7.4 meters.
The Nibulon shipyard launched the first new-generation tug in April. The "Yurii Makarov” tug has a capacity of 1,200 horsepower, and it is designed to operate in shallow waters, including in the northern tributaries of River Dnipro (Desna and Pripyat).
