The Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure wants to concession regional airports.

Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklyi announced this at a meeting with reporters, the CFTS correspondent reports.

"Primarily, we will talk about concession of regional airports. We will all benefit from this. We will talk about our vision and pilot concession projects in the near future," he said.

Regarding possible concession of the Boryspil airport, the minister said, “The base airport should remain in the country’s ownership, especially if we have the goal of developing it and creating a transport hub based on it. If we transfer the Boryspil to a concessionaire, he could have a vision that is different from those of the country’s politicians."

As the CFTS reported earlier, the minister of infrastructure said on September 12 that the parliament would consider a concession bill in the near future. Moreover, according to him, the issue of road concessions will be included in the document.

The president of Ukraine announced on August 8 that a new law on concessions would be adopted this fall.

The Ukrainian parliament approved the first reading the draft law "On Concessions" on April 3, 2018.

A new version of the draft law was registered in the parliament on August 29, and a revised version was registered on September 10.
