The Kyiv-Boryspil express train transported its 100,000th passenger on Saturday, January 26.
The 100,000th passenger was a resident of Zaporizhia, who flew to Kyiv from China, the Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company’s Board Chairman Yevhen Kravtsov said, the CFTS portal reports.
“The Kyiv-Boryspil Express transported its one thousandth passenger today. Tatyana flew in from China. She traveled to the airport on an express train and returned on the same route and subsequently by train to Zaporizhia,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
According to Kravtsov, the train transports an average of about 2,000 passengers and performs 27 trips per day.
He said that demand for tickets for the Kyiv-Boryspil express train was expected to increase in June, when the holiday season will begin.
As reported earlier, the Ukrainian Railways joint-stock company (Ukrzaliznytsia) expects the express train to transport 1 million passengers per year.
