The Luganskteplovoz company increased production by 50% in January-June this year, compared with the same period of last year, the press service of the company has announced. It produced 90 2TE116U diesel locomotives, 18 2TE116UD diesel locomotives, and three 3TE116U diesel locomotives during January-June.
Luganskteplovoz delivered 18 2TE116U diesel locomotives and 4 2TE116UD diesel locomotives with power plants from the General Electric company to the Russian Railways in June.
It plans to deliver 18 2TE116U and six 2TE116UD diesel locomotives to the customer in July. In addition, certification tests on a 3TE116U three-section locomotive and work on creation of a 2TE116UR diesel locomotive with engine from the MTU company are continuing. Adjustment of the technical specifications for electric locomotives and determination of the design layout for installation of equipment manufactured by Ukrainian plants on the 2EL4 locomotive will also continue.
Luganskteplovoz produces mainline, shunting, and electric locomotives, alternating-current and direct-current electric locomotives, and diesel trains. The company is part of the Transmashholding group (Russia).
Luganskteplovoz produced 162 locomotives in 2012, an increase of more than 70% compared with 2011. The company’s production volume in monetary terms increased by 10% to UAH 1.747 billion, its net sales revenue increased by 97% to UAH 1.694 billion, while its net profit reduced by 22.4% to UAH 55.77 million. It plans to produce 250 diesel locomotives in 2013, when its expected net revenue is more than UAH 3 billion.
