A major oil terminal will be built near the Oktyabrsk specialized seaport (Mykolaiv), according to reports by mukola.net. This is stipulated in a Memorandum of Cooperation signed in Odesa on July 18 between the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Mykolaiv regional administration, and the Trans Ukraine company
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Dmytro Demydovych and the Nikolayev region’s Governor Mykola Kruhlov signed the memorandum. The person who signed the document on behalf of Trans Ukraine was not disclosed.
"We have signed a memorandum of intent to implement a major investment project for oil refining near the Oktyabrsk seaport. The first step was taken today, and the port and the investor will now work out the figures and announce them officially. Roughly speaking, I think that the amount of investment will be at least USD 50 million,” said Demydovych.
According to him, the Ukrainian company will make the investment. The project will be implemented on a territory adjacent to the port. "There are no lease or concession relations here. What exists here are close relations from the viewpoint of using the port’s infrastructure for implementation of the project. But these issues also need to be worked out,” said the deputy minister.
The period of implementation of the project was not disclosed.
