The Nibulon company began construction of a new grain terminal on the Southern Bug River on 23 October. The project is being implemented in the village of Bugskoye (Voznesensky district of the Nikolayev region), the press service of Nibulon announced.
This will be the company’s third elevator complex in the Nikolayev region and the second on the Southern Bug River. The construction project is expected top be completed by June 2016.
Dredging work on the on the Southern Bug River began on 22 October. The company itself is performing the dredging work, starting from the village of Sapetnya (Nikolayev region).
"The depth of the river near Voznesensk is 1.3 meters, but it was 3 meters 25 years ago. The company plans to reach the Voznesensk and River Mertvovod as early as next autumn," the press service said.
The dredging of the river will allow transportation of about 1 million tons of grain from the Nikolayev and Kirovograd regions, which is equivalent to 50,000 heavy-duty trucks, the press service added.
