The Nibulon company has added coal to the list of goods it transports on River Dnipro. Nibulon’s vessels have already transported over 16,000 tons of coal from the port of Yuzhny to Kamianske (Dnipropetrovsk region) for Metinvest Shipping LLC this year, the CFTS portal reports, citing information from the company.
About 48,000 tons of metal products and coal are expected to be transported by river per month during the period of July-November under a contract with Metinvest Shipping LLC.
As reported, a barge carrying the first batch of metal departed Kamianske for the port of Yuzhny on April 21.
Nibulon estimates that transportation of cargoes by river freed up 3,585 railcars in the first five months of this year, considering the fact that a single freight car has an average capacity of 67 tons of cargo.
As reported, 2,964 million tons of cargoes were transported on River Dnipro during the first half of this year, which is 14.1% more than in the volume that was transported on the river in the corresponding period of last year (excluding containers).
