The SPK-1/35 floating crane has been tested and has received the appropriate documents from the Shipping Register.

One of the most powerful floating cranes on the River Danube, which was moved to Kiliia from Odesa in the summer of 2023, has begun operation.

The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDP) announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

According to the statement, the SPK-1/35 floating crane has been tested, and it has received the relevant documents from the Shipping Register.

"The crane is already helping with dredging. Such equipment is in great demand on the Danube today," the statement said.

The SPK-1/35 is almost 40 meters long. It has a displacement of 1,224 tons and a lifting capacity of 35 tons.

The floating crane can be used to modernize a factory slipway or to remove covers from barges without the need for gantry cranes. However, its primary task is grain transshipment.
