The Ukrainian seaports that are currently operational handled 7 million tons of cargo in January this year, which is 1.5 times more than they handled in June last year.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) announced this in a statement, the CFTS portal reports.

In June 2024, grain cargoes accounted for the largest transshipment volume, totaling 4.4 million tons, compared with 3.4 million tons in June 2023.

Ore cargoes were in second place with 1.2 million tons handled, up from 0.2 million tons a year earlier.

Over 1.3 million tons of cargo were exported through the Danube ports. The ports of Odesa, Pivdennyi, and Chornomorsk now account for the bulk of cargo transshipment. In June, 5.6 million tons of cargo were exported via the Ukrainian maritime corridor.

As previously reported, Ukrainian ports handled 53 million tons of cargo in the first half of 2024, when they processed 6,046 vessels.
