Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres have held talks in Kyiv, after which they called for the extension of the Black Sea Grain Initiative beyond 18 March, when it is due to expire.

The CFTS portal reported this, citing the Interfax Ukraine news agency.

"Extension of the Black Sea Grain Initiative after 18 March is critically necessary for the entire world," Zelenskyi said.

"I would like to note the extreme importance of extending the Black Sea Grain Initiative," said Guterres.

Zelenskyi and Guterres also discussed the Ukrainian "peace formula," demilitarization of the occupied Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, Russia’s nuclear blackmail, and the establishment of a special tribunal.

In addition, the United Nations secretary general promised to continue working on the exchange of prisoners of war.
