Ukraine’s Minister of Infrastructure Andrii Pyvovarskyi has promised to reopen or postpone the competition for the post of director of the Ilyichevsk Commercial Seaport (Odessa region) if it is uncovered that violations were committed during organization if the competition, the Interfax Ukraine news agency reports.
"Regarding the Ilyichevsk port, lawyers will submit their final findings to me today. If there is any violation of the legislation, the competition will either be reopened or postponed. There will be no violations of the law," Pyvovarskyi said during the "government question hour" in the parliament on Friday, June 19.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Infrastructure’s standing commission for organizing competitive selection of the heads of public sector business entities had decided to ask Pyvovarskyi to cancel the announced competition for the post director of the Ilyichevsk port because of the change of the port’s status.
The reason for this decision was the addition of the port to the list of the largest public sector enterprises in terms of assets. Thus, according to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the competition should be conducted in accordance with the procedure for selecting the heads of such enterprises.
