"We started the reform of Ukravtodor with its decentralization, we are transferring its functions to local agencies, and we are also dismantling the monopoly on services," Minister of Infrastructure Andrii Pyvovarskyi said during a meeting of senior officials of the Ministry of Infrastructure on 2 July.
The minister also said that Ukraine was following the path of Poland in the reform of the State Automobile Road Service (Ukravtodor). "Such a reform took five years there," said Pyvovarskyi.
According to him, it is necessary to create conditions under which the Ukrainian road system would be able to use funds from the European Union if the opportunity to obtain such funds emerged.
Pyvovarskyi also said that a draft law on the Road Fund was being prepared.
