The parliament has ratified a protocol amending the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Moldova on rail transport operations. This document simplifies the movement of transit trains across the border between the two countries, the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure said.

Transit trains with points of departure and destinations located on the territory of the same country will now cross the border without stopping (i.e. without undergoing state inspection), but only at border crossings specified in the agreement and at places outside border crossings specified in the annex to the protocol.

As a result, the travel time of a Kiev-Chernovtsy train is expected to reduce by two hours.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the amendments to the agreement with the government of Moldova will facilitate enhancement of transport cooperation, improvement of passenger rail services, and attraction of additional traffic between the two countries.
